In our Reception class, our highly experienced staff build upon the fabulous foundations built within Nursery.
Our knowledge-rich curriculum places great emphasis on building a rich and varied vocabulary whilst broadening children’s understanding of the world.
The curriculum in Reception follows the same framework as that in Nursery with the addition of further opportunities, challenges and responsibilities. The staff in the Early Years have collaboratively produced a bespoke framework of skills, which guides the principles of our pedagogy.
The continuity between Nursery and Reception supports the excellent progress of children. The end of the Reception year marks the culmination of their time in Early Years, and as such the children are assessed against each of the 17 Early Learning Goals within the EYFS seven areas of learning.
