To celebrate this year’s British Science Week Brabyns has gone ‘Dinosaur Mad’
Each class selected a prehistoric beast as their focus for the week; embracing cross curricular activities in the classroom, whilst working on a presentation for our whole school Friday celebration assembly.
In class, the children compared heights and weights of various dinosaurs in Maths, hunted dinosaur eggs in PE and Forest Schools, made fossil drawings & clay creations in art, wrote about encounters with Ankylosaurus, Parasaurolophus and Spinosaurus in English and learned all about the time in history when these magnificent creatures ruled the earth!
The highlight of the week was undoubtedly Mondays’s whole school workshops with the fantastic Dinostar – The Dinosaur Experience as the children travelled back in time to encounter a full size TRex skull, triceratops bones, dinosaur eggs, teeth and full scale footprints!
It’s fair to say that a ‘roar-some’ time was had by all!
