As you will have witnessed from attending our Spring Maths workshop, the children in Nursery greatly benefit from our regular White Rose Maths adult-focused sessions, in addition to enhancements made available within the classroom environment. Great emphasis is placed on the children learning and consolidating their skills through practical activities. This helps to develop their conceptual understanding of mathematics by using concrete, pictorial representations, and abstract thinking. Much focus is placed upon building the children’s skills in the Five Principles of Counting, which lays a strong foundation for Maths – Why not support your child in further developing these skills are home?
